This is a thread I can sink my teeth into!
Of course I agree with Irish. This is why he and I are where we are on this: Burgers are my most favorite food since young childhood. I'm not opposed to specialty burgers, i.e. mushroom/swiss, chili burger, etc... but give the trad burger.
Funny truth: I used to work at Wendy's, Medical Center, Birmingham, circa 1981/82. I learned officially how to assemble the burger properly at that time! And I still like it to this day.
Toasted bun as Irish describes Mayo on inside of top bun pickles onions tomatoes lettuce Bottom bun mustard meat with melty cheese Then assemble!
I have since learned that the tomato needs to be touching the mayo in any sandwich assembly. Ah, the quirks of the aged!
My latest fav burger place in Bham is Mooyah in the Colonade. But there are amazing burger places in that town!
