Rampant inflation is not helping the situation. Wages never keep up with inflation and in times of high inflation its particularly irritable. It really makes folks who are starting out at entry level wages feel like there is no point in even trying when their first paychecks wont cover the most basic expenses. That is also a problem. You can make 25.00/30.00 per hr now and still be struggling. That used to be big money back in the day.
