Park out unless it late night and nobody up close

Wife will circle - wastes time

So the same thing, keep the idiots from denting my truck and I get some exercise.

And something I've noticed over the years, I currently drive an F150, 4X4 slightly lifted with 33's. Sometimes when I come out of a store, there will be 1 or 2 nice 4X4's parked in my general area also.

Hell, when I drove my 4X4 Tacoma, there would be 1 or 2 Toyotas in the area.

And then you come out and there’s someone so close you can’t get your door open….even in the back 40, go figure.

Bingo! Wants to park close to the side where the restrooms are, then walks to the back to use it. The reason we’re there is for potting soil, mulch or other things on the other side of the store. Check out at the garden center and she says, just go get the truck and bring it over here, it’ll be a lot easier than pushing the flatbed up the hill. I say it been much better to park on this side where there’s plenty of parking but you had to pee! Wife rant over.

I just pick a row to go up to park, and very rarely do I need to get on another row until I'm leaving.

When I go to a convenience store and not getting fuel, I park well away from the door and many times around the corner of the building. I've noticed that most older folks (say about 50 or older) do the same. It gripes my azz to see someone young and healthy park so close to the door, that me and others have to walk around his vehicle to get in the door. Half the time they also assume that everyone for two blocks really wants to hear his jungle music playing and feel the windows of our own vehicle vibrating. So they leave their 79 Caprice on 22" rims running with windows down (they let them down as they were pulling up) while they go in and grab a fresh vape. OK, short rant over.

I'd wager I could guess your opinion on able bodied asshats having handicap tags that shouldn't.

My wife is like you with her Telluride. I’m in a 2016 GMC sierra. I will park where I can.

Only 2 , a "Sunday pickup" and a Farm truck. When the farm truck was new , back in '98, it used to get Sunday pickup treatment , now I kinda like to park it next to those fancy , new SUVs and sedans .

Recent parking lot story....... I was in Huntsville recently at a place that had a fairly large parking lot . It was sectioned off with maybe 30-40 spaces per section. Of course I go to the far section and there is only one vehicle parked in the section. I backed into the end of a row, opposite end of the vehicle already there, thinking there's basically a whole lot section and no way anyone will park by me. Well I came out and there was a 3/4 , 4 door truck right next to me.

I’m one of those that will park closer to the nice trucks, IF I have to park close to another vehicle. I figure if they’re particular about how they keep their vehicle, they’ll be less likely to door ding me in efforts of protecting theirs.

When I was 20 I bought a brand new ZR2. I was proud of it. It had less than a 1000 miles on it when I came out of Walmart and there was a ding in the door with yellow paint on it. There was a yellow car next to me. Being young and having a attitude, I mule kicked the door multiple times caving it in. Got iny truck and left.

I've done something like that twice. Once a woman opened her door into mine not once, but twice. The second time with impunity. With me sitting in my truck. I got out with her watching and kick a dent in her door.

Another I was in a spot in a fast food parking lot. Sparkling Cadillac pulled in next to me. Had door edge protectors on his doors. He slammed his door into mine, again with me sitting in my vehicle. Left a crease in my door. There were three of us in my vehicle. The parking lot had a Pidgeon problem. We tossed french fries on his car. All of them and watched the birds scratch and peck the hell out of his car.

All the time, every time.


I'll park out on the edge with 10 spaces around me but then come out to find some ignorant mouthbreathing MFer has parked beside me with all the other spaces still there. Makes me want to douse it in gas and light a match.

I always try to park in a spot where I can pull forward when leaving. Something I learned a long time ago, one of the worst things you do in a congested parking lot is to back up out of a parking space.

Don’t mind walking a little extra to do this. Figure I can use the extra steps

And don’t get me started on those perfectly healthy folks who will just sit and wait on someone to pull out of a close spot just so they can get a little closer.

If I do park between vehicles I pick what type. Maybe a Lexus and a higher end SUV. Never between any that look like they are democrat owned or from a buy here pay here lot

Iv'e always wondered why they have so many handicap parking spots at do it yourself home stores. but yeah as far as where to park: up close your car gets dinged, in the back you get hit by cars, so it's a toss up.

The simple living school crossing guards that I supervised would make their Christmas money at the Central Alabama Fair every year. They parked cars and it was orderly and efficient. There were several spaces reserved for Handicapped drivers up front but they filled up fast. My simple but brilliant guards would always come to me with their real slow, Black dialect and ask "Lieutenant, why do those fools complain about us parking their car when there are no more Handicapped spots and they have to walk 30 yards further and then pay to go in the fair and walk two miles?" They had a point.

Then there was my Sgt. Doug Stewart, who got along with everyone (best in the business at diffusing a situation) who every year at the fair observed that "We can go to a man's house and tell him how to treat his family and even his dog, and he'll be OK, but tell a man where and how to park a car and you're likely to have to fight him". True too.
