Going thru that mess from calera south this past weekend. How the hell they gonna choose who to ticket? Every one of us were over 45 thru there. I was just going with the flow. Was afraid to slow any for fear of getting rear ended! Most people are running 20-30mph over the posted limit there and making crazy passing attempts

Anyone know this guy. I’ve know him his entire life. He’s doing great this with Guide Dogs of America. Vaquito is a Trained facility dog and train for Autism patients. You might see him at schools and hospitals in the Mobile area. He’s been to several schools in North AL. I’m proud of him. https://www.facebook.com/share/18dVxx4CpB/?mibextid=wwXIfr

I have a question and the answer will determine how I feel about these camera tickets. Are they placed and the monies collected by a private corporation like most of the Red Light Cameras in municipalities in the State? If they are then I'm adamantly opposed to them. If they are bought, placed and maintained by the State, then I'm still not a fan but I feel better about them than I do the Red Light tickets.
Also, I suppose they are going to get the tag picture going away since AL does not have a front tag requirement.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I believe you are correct Jawbone, I "think" they will operate like the redlight cameras. For 65 I do not know how it will be able to keep up with the amount of tickets it will need to send.

If I understand correctly; speeding in excess of 20mph over the limit can be considered reckless driving? If so; maybe 50% of the drivers in the Alabaster -Calera work zone might be in that category?

But; "red-light cameras" can provide evidence of a violation with an image. To prove speeding the image would have to be tied to a radar detection device that is synchronized?

They use these a lot in the UK.....it's basically 2 cameras setup a specific distance apart. If you get to Camera 2 earlier than you should, based on the speed limit, you get a ticket. Not sure if that's the system they're proposing here or if it will be like a radar device

yesterday I tried to go 45 through that zone and literally thought I was going to cause a wreck. That was me thursday. I was in the right lane and slowed down close to 45 and it got ugly behind me quick like.
The harder I practice, the luckier I get.

The law passed stated it would be a Civil penalty with no court costs and no points. That makes it sound like a contractor may be involved.

All the out of state beach traffic will not treat you kindly.
