My wife loves weedeating and our greenworks 40v is good but the line feed head is crap. What's the go to battery powered weedwacker nowadays? She cant crank a gas one so definitely battery.

I have found that the feed head on all of them is crap. Having to jam the head into the ground to advance the string is just a poor design. I bought an aftermarket head that you manually insert cut pieces of line into the head. It has four heavy spring loaded slots that hold the line tight. When the string wears down you just push the spring and put in another piece of string. I buy the heavy duty string and one set of strings lasts me two complete yard cuts. Bought the thing at Home Depot.

I bet she could crank one of the Stihls that have the easy pull start capability. Echo’s are super easy to start. They also run flawless for 10 years or so before you have to replace the carb with a Chinese knockoff. Ben my experience at least.

I put an echo speedhead on my Stihl weed eater, its faster to load than a conventional one, and it winds line on beautifully. Works like a champ too.

Hers is some single line autofeed crap plus it has an odd attachment size that none of the universal heads has an adapter to fit.

I use a Kobalt 40V that does well. All that's ever worn out is the button that you bump to make it feed. My fiancé has a Kobalt 40V that is smaller and lighter, uses preloaded string spools and is some kind of autofeed. She likes it.

I have never had an issue with my Stihl trimmer feeding the line. I have the gas powered Kombi motor but have a friend that says the electric model is great.

I have a Ryobi 40v that works pretty good. I hate a weedeater. But this one isn't bad. You cut a piece of line, feed it all the way through the head, and twist it up. Is it the best, no. But I can deal with this one.

I have 2 milwaukee trimmers. They are all i use for weedeating.18v
Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one with deep ruts,hills and mud.It may be bumpy but WHAT A RIDE!

I had an older 40v Kobalt with a traditional "bump" style head and it worked fine - just like any regular ol' weedeater. After 7-8 years of hard use, I finally wore that weedeater out to the point that I let all the smoke out of the motor in the head (all electric motors have smoke in them...if you let it out, they tend to stop working).
I found another used one on our neighborhood FB page for free and have been using it, but it's a different style head and it's garbage. It's not a bump-head, it just feeds line every time you let off the trigger and get back on it. It doesn't feed reliably, it doesn't hold much line, and it's a huge PITA to reload it.
So, all of that is to say, I absolutely LOVED my 40v Kobalt and will buy another, but ONLY if it has the bump head

I have just about everything EGO and except for their weed eater I love them all (Mover, Chainsaw, Backpack Sprayer, Hedge Trimmer). But, I gotta say, their weed eater disappointed me. It lasted less than a year before I had to replace the head.
I don't want to pass quietly into the night. I want to slide in sideways kickin and screamin
