I've got a 5 1/2 and a 6 foot Shimano Clarus Ultra Light Spinning Rods, both are one piece rods and have held up well for years. They are my favorites, I have a ugly stick that gets used for guests, it's ok.
another vote for Shimano - they own G Loomis & i can tell the influence that has on their budget rods
have not been impressed with St Croix tbh
