Thanks for the replies. Seems there's a little bit of everything. I shy away from any surgery, especially if something is to be removed. A couple of you have suggested a dietary change, some of you have had some positive surgery experiences. Some folks need a bathroom nearby after eating. Decisions. Decisions. I managed my issues with diet, refused to have surgery. My mother was sick (cancer), and I refused to have surgery when I was needed by my folks to help out. The diet worked for me, for about a year. Eat lightly, nothing spicey, never eat a big meal late and then go to bed. It reached a point where the diet wasn't working. Doc said gall stones, and it was not going away. Had several nights where I woke up hurting, made a few ER trips. Eventually, elected for the surgery. It wasn't a big deal, little downtime. And as others have said, need to know where the bathroom is....you might need it quick.
