Hoyt, that’s not far from my dad’s place. He lives out there during quail and pheasant season. Did you use a guide or hunt public or private? I’ve thought about trying it out there sometime.

HSS I used an outfitter that I’ve deer hunted with before. I was a day late due to work and rolled in at 2:15 in the morning last Thursday. I slept in the morning hunt and went out around 1 pm. I had birds on me in 15 mins of getting set up and was done by 3:20. There were plenty of birds in this area, I’m glad I did the archery route on this one because I would have been done in 15 mins with a shotgun. I did the public land thing out there a few years ago for deer in unit 18, there was tons of pressure from locals and limited access with good habitat due to drought conditions . I’d like to try the public deal again one day for some redemption but as of now I’m so crunched on time I’m sticking with the outfitter. I will be back out that way in 27 for an early muzzleloader hunt.

Yes sir, it was.
On a side note, I would've thought there would be additional points when scoring for multiple beards, but apparently there isn't.

It does, you have to add the beards lengths together and enter that in the calculator for the score. For example, if the bird has a 10-inch beard and an 8-inch beard you would enter that the total beard was 18 inches.

I see.
I tried looking for that on the NWTF site, but didn't see it. Thank you

Is the score you have posted in the points thread for both beards or just one?

That score is with only one beard. I will have to measure the second beard and amend the score. Thanks for letting me know how to do it.
