I’ve been stuck many times. Rubbed slime and kept going no issue but pain. I got a buddy who’s grandad got stuck and had red streaks and had a tough time with it. Just watch it close.

Pawpaw stepped on one waddin in a pool at short creek in the 1930’s. It was the dorsal spine and it went through his shoe and out the top of his foot. Him and his buddys couldnt pull it out so he had to limp home with a catfish stuck to his foot. They put him in the paper, an he kept it for years, i never seen the article but daddy did an ive heard him tell the story a dozen times, its hilarious..but it makes you squirm too.

Rub some slime of the fish on to the wound and it will help the pain when you first get stuck. Keep it clean and keep polysporin on it. I never have figured out how the slime helps but it does. I used to fish with an older fellow that swore if you got finned to turn the catfish over and rub its butt hole on the wound. He claimed the acid neutralized it. I never had the need to try it but he swore by it. Of course you know how old time remedies were.

My ol cuz did one time too. Idot decided to kick a Hardhead off Cedar point pier when we was probably 14 yesr old or so 🤦🏿♂️ He had a good cry & i had a good Laugh 😂

I had to have one cut out of my foot one time. Hurt like heck and had to stay on antibiotics for a while.

I had a sailcat barely nick my finger last summer and that SOB was sore for 2 weeks. The initial pain lasted for like 4hrs but it was sore for a couple weeks and had a noticeable bump/scar for like a month. I cannot imagine one actually puncturing deep into tissue.

If it bled alot that is good. Probably pushed most of the poison out. I had a cat fall off the hook and hit me on the leg. Blood shot out about 2 feet, thought I was going to bleed to death. Next morning didn't even notice the sore

get a q tip and iodine and ram it through your hand for 30 min. Thats what they did for a nail through my arm at the er.

When I was probably 3-4 me and dad went on the pier night fishing. He put several hard heads in a bucket and I commenced to playing with em. Ended up with one struck in the palm of my hand. Lady used some pliers to cut the barb and ended pants the er to have it cut out. Don’t remember the whole story but pieces still remain in the memory.

Guy told me to rub the wound on the belly of the fish and I tried it and it worked, killed the pain anyway. My brother got finned by a red snapper on his hand and got a staph infection and nearly lost his finger over it. Go to the dr. if it looks infected.
