How could they have laid them after the war started with all the eyes in the sky and high tech we have and we not know it?

I’ve got a decent Exxon position where I missed the first peak. I’d actually like to see a couple of power plants and a few key bridges get turned to dust this week. Fingers crossed…

I was hedging against fuel prices while collecting a healthy dividend since Covid and it wasn’t my full intention really.

Just so I understand… you want civilians without power and the infrastructure destroyed so you can profit off of it? Gotcha…

And I'll bet $ high prices under Biden will prove to be much longer than under DJT.

Ultimately the price of oil will be whatever price Scott Bessent wants it to be. They will manipulate it from its true price regardless of how many people it puts out of business.

Couldn't we just carpet bomb the water in the straights and that would clear the mines? Or at least a straight path through there.

21 miles wide by 75 miles long by however deep it is. That might take a while and be cost prohibitive.

Just a straight path up the middle or such. Seems doable. Maybe something they have can do the job.

Any one remember this- During the 1980s "Tanker War" (a phase of the Iran-Iraq War), Iran was the primary actor responsible for planting naval mines in the Persian Gulf. These actions aimed to disrupt shipping traffic, leading to significant damage to merchant vessels and US Navy ships, such as the USS Samuel B. Roberts in 1988. I do which highlights Iran should have been dealt with decades ago which would not have brought Iran to be allowed to the brink of having nuclear weapons.

How about go grab the Iranian tankers and various ships, line them up beside one another, and make passes up and down the area of concern. Seems like a no brainer to me. Once it is complete, I might drop a mine at the port in their parking spot.

Sounds good , till one of those big SOBs hits a mine and sinks , permanently blocking the channel.

You just watched ships pass through there last week. You are also asking me to believe that our Military and intelligence have not
been paying attention to boat activity in the Straight. That's absurd. Think Caribbean Drug Boats.

So the "approved" for passage Tankers have had all the Mine coordinates so they can avoid them right ?

Very possible.

I don't think the ships that have been passing went through the normal channel. They’re been traveling just north of it in Iranian waters, that's why the Iranians think they can control who passes and charge a toll. Least that's what I glean from the news, but who knows the straight of it?
