Yesterday me and my wife went turkey hunting on some pasture birds here on our property by our house. Had two gobblers slowly coming they were strutting their way towards us. They got about 200 yards out and just kinda hung around. Then some crows started messing with them and one tucked tail and flew towards us but was headed towards the woods about 100 yards from us. It sounded like the turkey missed the limb he wanted to land on and fell and hit every limb on the way down. There was all kinds of clucking and sounded like two turkeys fighting once he hit the ground. Then all the sudden this joker comes running out of the woods like he was on fire then a coyote comes running out after him. The coyote jumps on him trying to eat him so I started firing trying spook him so the turkey could get away. I shot three times and the turkey got away from the coyote then he takes off running again straight towards us so my wife tossed me her gun since I was out of shells and I rolled the gobbler up as he was running by us. As soon as I set the gun down I look up and here comes the coyote running back in trying to get the turkey again and I piled him up just as he was about to grab the turkey I just shot. Me and my wife were in disbelief at the whole situation. After all the shooting and craziness we forgot about the other turkey that was still standing out in the field watching it all unfold. I got the guns reloaded and tried to call that bird in but he wasn’t sure of the situation and finally went the other way. Definitely one of the craziest hunts I’ve ever had.
