i personally think of the Stockholm Syndrome as where someone held in captivity begins to sympathize with their captors. Like the Hearst girl and the Symbionese Liberation Movement.

Whereas the Iranians, the Russians, The Chinese, The North Koreans, The Confederate slaves, etc... Have all just been beaten down so much by their government that they simply just kind of give up on life as we westerners have learned to know it. I have met and worked with quite a few guys from Russia and Eastern Europe during the Soviet times and I can tell you 100% to this day they still have a very defeatist mindset and tend to look at things like, "Well, this is just as good as it gets." Whereas we, who have been raised in relative freedom, look at a situation and go, "This crap needs to change and we all need to do something about it!"

This is why regime change in certain countries is so difficult. How do you change people from all they have know their whole life?

That's not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is understand that prices are going to continue to go up, at least in the near future. Our price on ingots went from ~$1.60/# to ~$1.92/# in a week. Before the Russia/Ukraine war started, we were around $1.10. It's also harder to get, not 100% because of the war. The tariffs had their desired affect of bringing people back to US sources. The problem with that is the sources weren't ready. They have yet to get to the point where they can keep up. At least that is what we are seeing. Others may be seeing different because of the aluminum they use. We have to use certified stock.

And this applies to things other than aluminum.

Believe it or not.Their are rules in war. It's kinda hard to explain. But to answer your question more specifically. In this situation. There are multiple reasons not to just wipe them out on day one. You really wanna appear to be the "good guys" so that others don't join their cause. It was better to let Iran lash out. It's better to let other countries feel the sting of the strait being closed. That way they offer you Intel, let you fly in their airspace, maybe even use airstrips, etc Causing a humanitarian crisis for civilians isn't a good look, unless you have exhausted all options. I'm pretty sure the president is gonna make them uncomfortable tonight, but he's not gonna wipe them from existence.

Civilians have formed human chains around key infrastructure sites in Iran, like power stations and bridges. I'm sure some folks will say kill them all anyway. I'm sure some folks will say the Iranian government is forcing them to do it. If they are being forced by the Iranian government should we kill them all anyway?

We're pretty surgical with our strikes. Hopefully they'll have their cell phones out and get some good footage to post and BDA.

I have said it before, Trump is not going to go on mainstream media and tell them (or anyone else) what we are going to do and when. He is keeping them chasing a laser pointer on the wall. Much of war is about deceiving the enemy and keeping them guessing. He is doing a fine job of it too.
