Every year it’s the same: multiple posts across forums and FB about club drama, or someone at work bringing it up like clockwork, especially as the season winds down and even more if they didn’t kill a buck while others did. For the life of me I don’t get the obsession with digging into every little bit of politics and letting it live rent-free in your head.
You signed up knowing there’s likely going to be politics, favoritism, or some people who benefit more than others... whether you noticed it up front or not. It happens in everyday life so its’s almost guaranteed in a hunting situation, so why waste energy fighting it? I view my membership(s) as paying for a key, nothing more, nothing less. If the hunting I get isn’t worth that key’s price, then move on.
Getting wrapped up in what everyone else is doing ruins more seasons and memories than people realize. It’s a lot more enjoyable to mind your own business, hunt, and stay out of the politics. Ok rant over.

A good friend of mine is the president of their hunting club and after hearing some of his horror stories dealing with members I'm very thankful I have private land to hunt.

Got out of one this year for that reason. Kicked someone out of club cause they killed there limit for the most part. I left with him and didn’t even shoot a deer. It was the principle.
In saying that I’ve never been in a club cause I don’t want to put up with it but had to when son started hunting.
It was just easy for him to go sit in a shooting house. I already told him few more years and we out and back to public.
He’s rather hunt the public since pigs are there but there’s few rifle days. Which makes it difficult for him and the deer.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
My phone screen does not always work right, usually a lot of misspelled words....

Only drama in our camp is when someone screws up supper!! I've seen the pictures and I'm betting it is a very rare occurrence when supper gets screwed up at that camp.

You screw it up once and you sit at the dunce table and you become the kitchen bi$&h for the rest of the trip. You screw up twice and you lose your trigger finger. No one has ever went for the 3rd screw up. That punishment can’t be talked about outside the camp kitchen. We full figured guys are serious about our camp suppers.

Other than my kids/granddaughter, I stayed in the PNW to hunt. In the areas of the 3 states I hunt, I literally have a tad over 1 million public acres I scout, run cams, and pick my spots from.

Agree 100%. Luckily I hunt on my friends property that he hunts on once a year. So it’s just me and 1500 acres.

I got members bitching currently. Our roads washed out and we were able to get 18 tri axle loads of dirt, gravel for the entrance way, and our main road graded and cleaned up to our second parking area all for FREE. I told the worker he was welcome to a turkey hunt thinking that our members would understand ( i run this club ), Im talking thousands and thousands of $ of work for FREE. One of them caught the guy on camera hunting and is fucking furious. Like come on now, we just got probably 5-7K worth of work done zero out of pocket cost. keep in mind when all the work needs to be done im the one doing it.
