Get a solar battery charger setup

I'll put them on my radar and check on em.

I fished with a guide in Louisiana this weekend. He has a 60ah and said it lasts 4 trips.
I’m looking into these things myself

I have a Dakota Lithium 36v 110ah - it is a big battery and it works well. I started with a Lithium Pro 36v 75AH, which is smaller but the BMS locked up and they would not replace or fix fast enough so I switched to the Dakota.

No way in Hell i could recommend these sumbitches to anyone! I received my battery and charger last week, and i ordered wrong battery charger by mistake and I've been getting the run around trying to get it sent back! Ya can't get no one to answer the phone, and when i actually got a call back it turned into a chit show, well i got a lengthy email yesterday on how to return blah blah and below was the attached pre paid file but it was blank, called the bastages dozen times, and got a call back an hour later and the Camel Humper i spoke with (was the one from the day before) agreed that it was blank and would have it taking care of. Well received an email saying the call had been reviewed and i have indeed been sent the label lol, well i gave 'em a nice reply about what actions i'd be taken tomorrow and wouldn't ya know they sent me a Label, i imagine they wear some folks out, but they messing with the wrong SOB 😆 I imagine Li time can't be no better since I tried their customer service number first the heck of it and it was same recording as PQ which is manufactured by same company just rebranded.

You're right Beadle! Didn't even cross my mind until after the Fact, BUT wouldn't have gotten for the price i did, wasn't worth the hassle though 🤣

Aight, i'm kinda slow so yall help me out a little. I've got 2 12v 100ah lithiums coming today to run my 24v trolling motor. So i just run them in series like normal lead acid right. Jumper from bat 1 +pos to bat 2 -neg and run power like usual right? But then reading, they're saying something about a balancer? I bought a 12v lithium charger and my plan was to just pull the jumper and charge each battery individually. It is that easy ain't it?

Just curious question. Why didn't ya just buy one 24v lithium instead of 2 12volt lithiums

Yes, it's that easy and I've been doing the exact same thing for several years now, although I started with 50 ah batteries and ran out of power on a couple of trips. I repurposed those batteries and got a pair of 100 ah about a year ago. I have a 12/24 charger, and I usually just charge them in 24 volt mode. Occasionally, I will charge them separately on 12 volt mode just to make sure they don't get way out of balance. I don't know if that's really necessary or not, but it certainly doesn't hurt anything.

I went with these instead of a 24 volt battery because I couldn't find a 24 volt that would fit my boat. I'm glad I did, as that allows me to use the old ones around the farm.

Not fit like in Battery Tray? Just curious cause mines smaller than my Lead batteries but i made it work

I gotcha just figured they cost more than what i paid for my 24v 50ah, i went with the 50 to start off with cause everything i read (and videos i watched) said 2 new lead acid batteries give you about 50ah so should work great for what i do

I aint been able to fish/run mine yet. All i can say is both my lithiums together weigh less than 1 27 series lead acid. I did read the instructions and did what it said. Charge each full. Link parallel for 12-24 hours. Ready to hit water fishing. Took the century out out and ran around the icw and out to bird island. She did ok. That aint nothing like running tenn river or smith lake!

I fish in current often and wasn't happy with the performance of the 12 volt TM the boat had when I bought it. To switch to a 24 volt, I had to repurpose the area under the bow deck, but leave room in the middle for the TM cable. I couldn't find a 24 volt battery that would work, but I can use 2 of most any 12 volt batteries.

The only real downside of 2 12 volt batteries is that you double the chance of a bad BMS shutting you down.
