Probing deeper into the social issues of the day in which we live and in an effort in trying to understand the opinions of some on here, I have two questions. If you could choose your neighbors by knowing only their stated religious beliefs and NOTHING ELSE about them....no family history knowledge, no criminal history knowledge, no employment knowledge, no education knowledge of them.......

Question #1. Based only on their professed religious beliefs would you prefer to live next door to a Jewish person or a Muslim person?
Question #2. Why, as to your answer to #1?

Lived next to a family from Afghanistan for a while.
They constantly brought over amazing food and were pleasant neighbors.

I’ve not ever lived next to a Jewish family.

Catholic the one beside me is an awesome neighbor and loves to fish and have a social drink. They both love to cook and good at it. Baptist neighbor makes awesome bread and a monster garden that’s feed a bunch He will try to get to go to church at the tent things they have. He’s not real he will poach and catch crappie way over the limit. Says it’s only illegal if ya get caught.

1. Either is fine with me.
2. I would love to see either one come to know Christ.

First rule of avoiding trouble is to avoid trouble. I don't want to near either of those groups of people. I'm not the smartest goober but avoiding trouble is easy even for a weirdo like me.

you should really try out a thug azz dope dealer. Especially after he gets out of the pokey for the second time and he’s pissed thinking you had something to do with the second strike.
Luckily baby moma made him move
There’s a reason I’ve bought 6 pistols and shot 8K rounds.

To answer the question
I’d take the Jew

I actually worded my scenario wrong. I didn't intend for either choice to be a religious community, just having neighbors that had those different beliefs. I edited the original post.

However, I believe that you knew my intent. You seem to have a particular hatred of the jews. How about the Muslims?

Well I have good friends that are Jewish ancestry but are Christians. Selma has had a significant Jewish history. Still some around and they are great people. Can't say the same with Muslims although I did work with a Muslim. He had some work issues but I don't believe his religion had anything to do with it. Maybe it did. He just didn't respect women at all. This did however affect how he treated his wife. Her mother worked under my supervision and she hated him with a passion. She would've put a bullet between his eyes if she could've gotten away with it.

Having said all that I'd have to go with Jewish and I think I explained the second part of the question.

For me it depends on where they were born and raised. I’d take a Mississippi Muslim over a New York Jew and I’d take a an Alabama Jew over a Minnesota Muslim.

Heck, it took me and the wife 27 years to be able to afford to live where we don’t really have neighbors. I don’t want anyone living next to me. BUT…to answer the question you asked, I’ll take the Jew. They both need to know Jesus, (assuming you weren’t talking about messianic Jews) and have a relationship with Him, but I don’t trust Muslims. Plain and simple. A friend of mine is a realtor and has sold houses to multiple Muslims. She said they come across very nice, but have some questionable “practices” for a lack of a better term.

That’s true! grin She told me some of the things they do. I just didn’t want to go into it. It’s a bit strange.

They ain’t gonna be any less or more suspect than any other neighbors are or will be. As long as their problems stay on their side of the property line they are fine. Whatever comes across the line becomes mine to deal with as I see fit.

Back when I was building houses, I built two houses for Muslims. Both were doctors and both were good customers.

Also had deals with good Christians, including one preacher. I wouldn't ever turn my back on them...

Sad to say it but in 24 years of construction, and working in multiple churches, I’ve only had ONE preacher NOT try to screw me over. I’ve had to threaten to have one arrested. I’ve repossessed materials from another church. I had to ask one point blank, if I wasn’t saved, what did he think I would think of Christian’s if I judged on his behavior. I won’t work directly for churches anymore other than Decatur First Baptist. Amazing folks there. As for the others, I’ll work as a sub under a GC but that’s it. I also did a job for a Muslim, female doctor. (Go figure. They can’t show anything other than their eyes in their own country but can become a doctor over here). She was a royal “B”. It was early in my career and I would take about every job I could. Now, I’d walk away with the way she talked to me.

I treat all by the way they act. Based on that, they get MY version of what they deserve.
