I haven't priced them in a minute from the dealer. Last I saw, which was years ago, they were $400+.
Me second one finally gave up the ghost. Truck will crank if I put the fob on the start button, but otherwise not functional.
Found some on EBAY that need to be programmed for around $50ish.
Anyone ever purchased and programmed one? Who does that other than the dealer? Locksmith?
Suggestions and advice welcome.
Character is not developed in moments of temptation and trial. That is when it is intended to be used.

Yes. Locksmiths can program but many will only do so if you purchase from them. Also, it costs significantly more if they cannot use a current working fob. That applies to both dealer and locksmith. Having to place close to start button could be weak battery or fob going bad. I’d spend $5 on battery first if you haven’t done so already.

Call Gifts and Gadgets in Bessemer and see if they have what you need. They all kinds of key fob and cell phone stuff.

You cannot program the security feature without specialized software.

Check your insurance policy. I paid a locksmith for 2 in 2mos until I realized my policy covered. Got the 3rd for no deductible

Buy one online program it inside the vehicle. What kind of truck? F160 has a spot under the cupholder to put one in and do a couple things and it will program

Mary Carters Paint store in Cullman sells and programs for several makes/models and are the cheapest that I have found. Might call them if you are ever up this way.

O'Reilly auto parts sell them
Amazon sells them, just watch a YouTube video on how to program them
Some cars require a gadget or software but you can buy the gadget off Amazon and watch a video to program
