Yes. Locksmiths can program but many will only do so if you purchase from them. Also, it costs significantly more if they cannot use a current working fob. That applies to both dealer and locksmith. Having to place close to start button could be weak battery or fob going bad. I’d spend $5 on battery first if you haven’t done so already.
