Thanks for the post! I carry the relief step instead of the step; not sure which would be easier to use while hanging.
I simply will not climb a hickory or poplar. No deer is worth the risk.
All the labor of man is for his mouth, and yet the appetite is not filled.

Great Post!!!!! We all owe it to our familys to wear SAFETY HARNESS. Think about your wife,or husband,and kids the next time you get out of your vehicle to go hunting. WEAR YOUR SAFETY HARNESS.

Thanks for the great post. I always wear my harness but have never really thought about what I would do if I actually fell. I just went to the HSS website and reviewed the instructions for using the relief strap. I keep it in the right breast pocket of my harness and feel confident I could use it after a fall. Thanks again.

Excellent post. Glad everyone is OK.
I perform aircraft accident investigations for the Navy. One of the most important things we do is analyze the mishap from all angles based on the information and make recommendations on how to prevent the next one.
I wish more people who unfortunately experienced falling out of a treestand would do this. You now have some extremely important information. Someone can think about it all you want but until you are actually there in that situation do you begin to realize what works, what doesn't and what you wish you had.
