Always heard they didnt lie. Mine here in cullman are budding out. Means no more frosts, right? Been here 3 springs now and this is def the earliest theyve budded out.

In 35 years I've only seen my pecan trees get fooled 1 time, they're leafing out starting last week. Sawtooth oak are stupid, they get tricked all the time. Got some sawtooth and pears on the lease that got nuked in the last cold snap, completely brown. Also nuked some of my azaleas

I checked the 8 day forecast and saw one night, the low is 45. Just enough doubt to keep me from putting maters and peppers in the ground now or even next weekend. I've started hardening them off a little already.
Character is not developed in moments of temptation and trial. That is when it is intended to be used.

Most of the time the pecan trees dont lie, but it can happen. In 1983 there was a mid-April frost and I remember my father and grandmother talking about how strange it was because that was in Clio. My grandmother was complaining how the pecan trees in her yard got frosted.

Planted some maters and peppers before that last hard freeze. Placed bottomless buckets on each one and they al wilted. Works for frost but not that kind of of cold. One mater was covered with wheat straw and it’s fine. The other plants are producing leaves now so I think they’ll make it.
I wa thinking about t that yesterday, I read in a farmer
Planting beans early during warm spell and the cold other top killed the plants. However the roots got a head start and he supposedly made a jumper
