No wind at daylight here.
Had a great hunt. Called a hen past us and 3 gobblers converged
30 yards in front of us.
Perfect hunt until my trigger man started shooting.
Emptied his gun and didn’t cut a feather.
Update:
Went to another spot and called up 2 big strutters.
He misssed again. Only fired 1 shot this time.

They were gobbling around 545/6 this morning here on the homestead. Had one come in at 706 and he knew something was up. Looked around from behind a tree and cautiously backed down into the bottom and headed west. Never presented a good shot. Heard a shot about an hour later on private property about 3/4 mile away that’s not inhabited or anyone should be on according to land owner that we keep an eye on for. Unfortunately I think he’s got poachers. We’ll be chatting later today or tomorrow. Guts telling me it’s poachers. Out of my control so I have to sweep it off the mental porch for now.

My cousin's club had some guy pulled over on the side of the road poaching theirs in Cleburne Co

Birds been here 2 straight days but not a peep heard or a feather seen. Left at 830 for church and walking out I found a fresh dropped half rack of a small 8 point. Just saved the farmer a flat tractor tire.

Heard first gobble around 10. Played with him for an hour but he wouldn’t commit and eventually lost interest. Did find a big pile of feathers that appeared to be a successful hunt for a poacher.
