Due to baseball, school, and him living in Honduras a little while, we just never could get him a shot at one over the years. But this morning was different. Called a couple of gobblers in right off the roost but he couldn’t get a shot. Of course I could have killed them 3 different times but from his angle he couldn’t see them. We let them get by us and watched them gobble and strut in the road for the next 20 minutes. Let them walk off down to a clear cut. My buddy that was with us said, “ I know where we need to go to kill him.” And we took off and got around him. He was steady gobbling on the edge of the clear cut as we got on a nice oak ridge above him. Called a few times and he came right up the hill gobbling and strutting. Of course he got behind a tree for about 5 minutes but my son finally got a shot and rolled him up!
