Anyone on here raise pigeons for dog training? Looking for a source possibly a loft with recall pin if I can get homers

There’s some Amish guys in Tennessee that catch them in their barns. I think they charge $8 a bird. If you wanna PM me, I can see about getting them for you.

They don’t sale the bird, they sale the labor it takes to catch it…

I have a friend in Shorter that raises a ton of homers. They are big into the pigeon racing. That's a good ways from you though. Pm if you want his number

If you want the birds to return to your loft you will have to raise and train them at the your loft . If you get birds from someone who has homers that have been allowed to fly at someone s loft they will return to that loft if released . My suggestion is get a few breeder pairs and raise what you need . One pair of birds will lay two eggs at a time and should hatch at least six or eight pairs before winter if you can start soon . I am in a racing Pigeon Club in central Alabama and some members should have some to many breeders and would be willing to let some go . If you are interested contact me and I can make some calls .

Soak bird seed or corn in whiskey. Put it where they feed. They get drunk and can't fly.
