I dropped my phone somewhere out in a 5 acre sage field and have spent all day looking for it. I have the locations turned off. Is there any hope?

So you don’t have find my iPhone activated???? That’s your possible hope if you activated it and left location on for that. Otherwise I don’t know what to tell you. Good luck. Hope you find it.

I would try because if you have find my iPhone there is a chance location is turned on for that app on your iPhone. I have location turned off in privacy but several apps are still on individually including Find my iPhone. Try it.

Maybe get a small drone up at dusk to help spot light. Or maybe if sunny a reflection off phone.
Another option is to get several friends to slowly walk the field and sweep the whole area.

How tall is the sage? Last ditch effort would be to mow the field and hope the phone survives the blades.

I see it in my wife’s find phone app in the field but I walked it for hours today. It’s not detailed enough to arrow it down or show my present location and walk to it. There is a option to play a sound but I don’t know if it will be low volume or not.

go to: icloud.com/find and sign-in to see last known location.
If you have someone with a thermal drone it might detect the small amount of heat from the battery or sitting in sun.
