Well fixing to head out . Set 11 traps this week on a duck farm I am working on. Caught 7 so far but they had been educated before I started and it's been tough. Found their lodge yesterday. It is huge probably 5 foot high and slopes down about 20 feet to the waters edge. There is a duck blind right behind it so options are limited. Got some new trap stands in this week and I think I am going to like them. Anyway I sprayed about 6 acres that I hope is dry enough to pull the corn planter on today.

Only had 2 beavers out of all those traps but that makes 9. Worried to death about the corn I planted

I caught the biggest male beaver I've ever seen today. Kinda excited to see what the female will look like ![[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]](https://i.postimg.cc/kGQZ5YjS/20260505-153617.jpg)

Got a few this week but all the rain made it tuff. Probably going to spray the corn about Wednesday and see if enough made it or bite the bullet and replant. Hoping enough made it in duck fields to plant Japanese millet in flooded places later. Corn and sunflowers in dove field made it

Kyles I got a question for you. I got a couple of otters in my boss’s pond at his house. He wants me to trap them. You got any experience with them? I got footholds but that’s it. I saw a couple videos where they were trapping them with footholds.

I never tried foot holds. Most of the ones I catch are swimming in the beaver runs. They seem to like the deeper water. I don't target them they just swim through the deeper areas into them. You might catch them with bream for bait I don't really know. When I was working at goosepond they were getting into people fish baskets. Never dream we had so many. I was turkey hunting the last week of season and seen 4 come out of an old black pond out into a cornfield and play around a minute then run back in

I’m going to go scout it a little tomorrow evening.

You may find a little run they are coming out if he has any beavers they will travel their slides. I just tried to research about them for you. They don't fall under the same classification as beavers so season closed Feb 28 in Ala.
