Either the Rav4 or the Highlander will get you there and back. It depends on what your needs and wants are which one to get. For me, my 2015 Rav4 does what I need it to do everyday.

Loved my Highlander and drove the chit out of it. Probably will get another one if I ever get another vehicle, and a hybrid at that.

We also had a RAV4 for a while that our daughter drove (like Earnhardt) while in high school. So, that was 10+ years ago and they've improved greatly since then. I drove our RAV for about a year (also like Earnhardt) including trips to south Florida, western NY and the Midwest. It drove like a champ, was mostly comfortable, and was about as inconspicuous as could be with my hunting and fishing stuff in it.

Either one IMO would be a good choice, although I think the Highlander gives probably more space for things like coolers, gear, luggage on vacations, space for a rear-facing anti-aircraft rifle or whatever you need.

Don’t the newer Rav 4s have a CVT transmission?

Yes though CVT’s have a bad reputation because of Nissan.

Toyota has been doing CVT’s for nearly 30 years, I believe the 1st Gen Prius was their first.

100% Highlander…had one for a couple years as a company car and it was flawless. I had a RAV4 for a rental a couple weeks ago and didn’t like anything about it, I mean ZERO.

I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

We bought a new RAV4 in 2018. There are times I wish we had bought the Highlander. I just like the extra room.
