Yup definitely they 100% can be used for good.
They helped determine the killer in the Vet professor homicide that happened at Kiesel.

But when is too many cameras and when does that line get drawn.

Ring cameras record people without their permission? Problem with that?

If I am on private property then no I don't have a problem with that. I have a problem with government surveilling me every time I drive down a public road.

But; they record people going down the street, as well. That's helped them find the Brown University shooter

Ring has recorded cars going up and down roads since they were installed. My cameras catch vehicles on two streets.

I’m not fond of the flock cameras and big brother yet we are here.
You’re being tracked by phone, puter and every time you use a card for payment. Also every time you enter a store and where you go in said store. What you look at and what you buy. Every email you’ve received or have sent.

There’s more but that should about sum it up

Theres a saying in the digital world. If the product is free the you are actually the product being sold.

Yes, they suck.

So; recently there were some Romanian's installing card skimmers at DG's and other stores in the Birmingham area. Hit 12 stores and were stealing EBT benefits, credit cards, etc. They had them on camera installing the skimmers. Got their car and tags in the parking lots. Tracked them via Flock cams to Mississippi where they were arrested.

Cool.
Thoughts on Flock placing one next to your mailbox in the right of way/easement pointed at your driveway in the name of safety?

The leather of Big Brothers boot must have an appealing taste to you.

Thoughts? I don’t own the road right of way or the Walmart parking lot. And if you think big brother or corporate little brothers don’t track everything you do (more than Flock has ever done) without Flock cameras you’re not as smart as you think you are.

I guess it’s possible you don’t have a cell phone of any kind, or a credit/debit card, use online payments or for that matter ever use the internet (current forum use noted sir) and definitely not any form of social media. Or toll roads. Or before the internet, catalogs. Or airlines, hotels, rental cars, etc.

This is nothing more than nuanced selective outrage. Ultimately we are all an individual data product being sold multiple times a day. The idea that doing away with Flock systems will somehow ensure the average non-criminal will not be “tracked” is extremely naive. Extremely, extremely naive. Good luck.

Ring camera has probably caught as many criminals as flock cameras

Nothings gonna slow down this information transformation. It’s just getting ramped up.

Sadly like in China, conformity will be the standard otherwise punishment will be delved out. Social scores will be applied at some point. Hopefully I’ll be long gone

As technology advances for criminals we should embrace our ugly history as punishment. The Romanian card skimmers above we should ask what would Caluschu the Butcher of Romania do? The focus shouldn't be on if our government knows where we are they do the focus should be do they really want to contact us? Dogs love chasing cars until they catch one. I see these grifters called first amendment auditors being confrontational for the reaction to get that sweet YouTube cash or file a baseless lawsuit I'm thinking a good solid beat down the pepper spray the baseball bat and serious injury would put a stop to this grift. It's not like they didn't know their actions were risky behavior maybe it's the perfect use for the .380.

So; you are going to shoot some guy for taking video on a public sidewalk. Hope it's worth it; because you lost.

When you look at the arrest records of these Jack wagons with like 40-75-110 arrests and citations multiple convictions and light sentences because "no one got hurt" clearly they consider jail just as a cost of doing business. So if they don't fear the police the courts the jails who does that leave? That's right us. Every defense class I've ever had talks of avoiding trouble not getting drunk while carrying etc. these people look for trouble and initiate confrontation for the reaction to earn views which equals money. Bust them kneecaps and pull out that serrated sharp Japanese steel and proceed to play stick and slice yes there will be an investigation but you'll be able to show prior bad acts and prosecutors are slow to protect criminals. Ol'boy in a hospital bed with two wrecked knees who can't walk straight and looks like a sewing machine gone crazy from stitches probably going to evaluate his life choices and put the iPhone away. Mess with the bull get the horns. I can remember a time in our country when stupidity got called out and we need that to return.

The BLM movement and defund the police has emboldened th criminals. Soft on crime sentencing and flat out slap in the wrist has made things worse.
The Memphis cop turned trooper I know did so because he would be filing the paperwork and the perp would already be out. Only the hardest of crimes were kept in during Covid court appearances were years out and the criminals knew it.

Things hopefully are changing we will see

I know my drug dealer neighbor wasn’t scared of the popo. Matter of fact he had a lifetime of truanting the cops. He as scared of them and made it a game. He’s recently moved thank goodness. Pretty much the reason I went off the rails with pistol training etc…. He got out of the pokey a 6 months ago and made it a point to try and be intimidating. I wasn’t intimidated which made it worse. His baby moma made them move so I’m guessing he was wanting to play.

And; they own your house while you are sitting in jail. You lose
Who cares if they are shooting stupid videos; quit watching and walk away.
