My area has had 50% of the historical average from October 1st through current. I’m a little concerned as we approach the summer months. Definitely worried about the 400 trees I planted this winter. I know we still have time to bank some moisture and hopefully we’ll have some good rain in early summer like we did last year.

Thoughts?

My thoughts are control the controllable and don’t be concerned or worried about the uncontrollable. It won’t do any good.

Unless you have a way to water them. Then obviously it’s a controllable. 🤣

There’s always a way, I’m just not willing to do it!

I guess I really just wanted to bitch about the lack of rain and the impact it could have on my clover plots and summer plots. My ground is already very dry. I have 2 beautiful, lush plots. A few others getting wilted and shriveled. Sandy soil sucks. Definitely parking the disk for a while to work on the soil.

I made lemonade out of lemons and got some early corn in. it’s normally way too wet to plant in March, in my fields.

I sprayed grasses in my WMS Deer Magnet plots 3 weeks ago and had a great stand of clover and chicory, but lack of rain has really put the hurt on the clover. We're supposed to get some rain Sat pm/Sun am.

The turkey hens are probably better off without it right now........

It’s definitely not ideal. I’m not burning until we get rain. It’s dry in places. Fields are fine here, but it’s dry enough that herbicides aren’t doing what they should be doing.

I got some yesterday and some a few days ago. Got my 7 ac summer plot in a week ago and am praying my e- fencing is working since I am in Utah for another couple of weeks. If it fails I will have pissed away a lot of money for a Sorghum field. Last year I only fenced 4acres and everything a deer likes to eat was gone in the unfenced 3 acres was gone in less than a week after it got 4-5 inches tall

This is not a complaint to be clear. A few little sprinkles here today.

Worried about pine beetle infestation in older pines by mid summer if we don’t get some serious ran.

Decent chance coming through Saturday night in my area. Desperately needed right now. Clover is looking rough. Almost non existent forb growth on my place.

I planted 200 bare root Chickasaw plum back in March that had leafed out and were looking great. As of today, majority have dropped those leaves. I’m hoping some rain will bring them back to life.

The winter tree plantings are all looking good, but it has to start raining at some point.

Still not looking good down south. That forecast for the weekend keeps moving the wrong direction.

We are extremely dry here. The creeks and streams are lush and green still. I created small openings on the creek and that's where the critters are. Beaver ponds are also a good thing. They create alot more wet edge for wildlife.
