Ed, it's for my home. Coax is already run. I really appreciate the help. Read this. Coax = BNC https://reolink.com/blog/bnc-vs-poe/I am no home security pro but I install interview room systems at Police Depts and CAC's. With coax/BNC you will probably still have to connect to power. This can be done using a power adaptor but a wire will need to be run from where the adaptor will be plugged in and the camera. POE provides camera power through one network connection between the camera and NVR (Network Video Recorder) using cat5 or cat6 network cable.
