I’m going to start seriously looking for a newer Toyota once my ‘06 Highlander hits 500k. I’m at 490k now. I’m trying to decide between a RAV4 (2022?) and another Highlander (2019?). With putting 35+ thousand miles on a vehicle per year, I would love the fuel economy of the RAV4. I’m not pretending to be saving the environment; more money in my pocket means more guns and ammo. That said, the Highlander is going to be a much smoother ride and nicer interior. The V6 is bulletproof, but 22mpg puts me right where I have been bleeding gas money for 10 years. Either will pull my little Jonboat. Newer RAV4 has about the same space as my current vehicle. Either would be a step up from not having AC, power steering, having to add oil, terrible paint job, etc. I’m not opposed to a hybrid for either since Toyota has their crap together, but might have to go to an older model to stay in budget.
KBB says I might get $900 on a trade in, so not much help there nor much expected.

I had a Rav4 rental, and I don't think the door panel had an effective arm rest. So it was a far cry from my Tundra in that regard.
