I Just purchased a Christensen Arms FFT in 7mm Back Country with a 16" barrel. Im hoping to be able to have a short range to medium range (500-600 yards) set up that is light weight. What is yalls recommendation on a lightweight scope to match the lightweight gun that gives me the 500–600-yard range if needed and low light clarity when hunting in the woods? Currently looking at the Leupold VX-5HD 3-15x44mm. Opinions?

I have that scope aswell like it pretty good. I also like the zeiss conquest v4 3-12 x44.

The VX-5 are excellent scopes, I have 3 of them on rifles.
3-15x44 is the perfect balance.
I have an extra that is LNIB with the FireDot reticle.
I’ll take $900 for it if you are interested.

Seems to me you’re on the right track with your scope choice already
If you reload I’d highly recommend the CDS series in that scope
I have several of them and have found them to be very repeatable when dialing for accuracy
When I need expert advice I tend to talk to myself

I looked pretty hard at one when I was scope shopping for my 7mm-08 but ended up going with a zeiss conquest V4 3-12x56 and have been really happy with it so far.

The VX5HD 3-15 is an amazing scope and would be very well-suited to your needs. If your budget won't allow for it or you're looking to go ultimate lightweight, the VX3HD 2-10 is another great choice that will save about 5-6 ounces and about $500.

To add to my previous comment.
I first bought a NIB VX5 3-15x44 a few years ago from a member on Aldeer. I compared it to three Swarovski scopes I already owned - a Z3, Z5 and a Z6.
In my backyard at last light, at 6x magnification, the VX5 was as good or slightly better than all of the Swaros. The firedot was a difference maker in that i could see it when I lost the reticles in the Swaros.
I've since bought a couple of VX6's and a Mark 5 scope that are excellent, and haven't bought any more Swaros....

EuroOptic has the gen 1 of that scope on sale right now for $869
We just bought 2 of them.
I also like the Schmidt-Bender Zenith or Klassik, but they are more expensive.
