Come on, give it up. We'd love to hear it!

I agree - the story telling side of the house isn't exclusively mine. Come on - let's hear it.

Heck, while we wait on him to tell his I'll tell one. It was in the late 80's and I was around 14-15 years old. A neighbor across the road ask me if I wanted to go to Skline WMA the next day, I was more than ready. Walked to his house the next morning gun and all. We went up Smolligings, the next morning,I know some of yall know exactly where im talking about. My flashlight wouldn't work so him and a friend walked me to a bench where i wanting to go. Still pitch black dark, I heard something running. It was 2 legged. It stopped 20-25 yards from me. I could hear it huffing for air, luckily the wind was in my favor. Being in pitch black, there no way a person could have done it without breaking both legs. Those that have hunted there understand what im talking about. It's rough terrain. I've thought about it many times and still don't have a understanding or any idea what it was!

Love a good hunting story, love my family and friends. Some people you can't, but acted like do.

Grew up hunting that same area. Some of the older guys we hung around with talked about one cold morning some kind of “booger” let out a loud scream that sent them all back to the truck. Never figured out if they were trying to spook us or not. I always made sure my light was working tho. Lol.

Since this is story time - I will share a story from when I was about 15-yrs old (1979) (it will in NO WAY compare to roadkill's).

My uncle raced super stock dirt track cars back in the 70's and early 80's (we raced in what was called the ArkLaTex (Arkansas (my home state), Louisiana, and Texas) series and we were coming home from a race in LA ). One night we are coming home late (around 2:30am) and my uncle dropped me and my cousin off at the end of the holler (no place to turn the truck and trailer around up the holler) which was about a 2-mile or so walk to his house up this pitch black dirt road with no flashlights. We got about half way up the road and heard the loudest woman's scream that I had ever heard.

We both took off sprinting, I was MUCH, MUCH faster than Bo and probably ran a world record mile to their front porch. A minute or so later - Bo gets on the porch and accuses me of abandoning him (which, he was absolutely right). We are on the porch getting into a pretty heated argument and about to duke it out, when his Dad (my uncle) comes to the door and tells us to either fight it out or get our asses in the house that we were waking everyone up. When we get inside - he asks what the in the Hell is wrong with us and we tell him the story of this woman screaming on the side of the road. He started laughing and after calling us both chickenshits said that it was a mountain lion up on the mountain.

I was skeptical - because I had never seen a mountain lion and I had been all over those woods 1,000s of times. So I asked my grandpa about it and he had a better story. According to him, he had walked my grandma up that same holler (while they were courting) to her house and was walking back down to his house when a mountain lion screamed. Apparently he was in his finest duds and he swore that when that thing screamed - the hair on his head stood straight up and he had to pull his derby hat down.
