Recorded it earlier and watching it now.... thumbup Ebare caught a 7 1/2 pound small mouth today and man that joker was a speciman... shocked Kind of wish they would do away with or at least limit the use live scope, especially during the Classic...

I wish they would do away with it. I watched it earlier today and I just don't enjoy watching someone stare at a screen all day weaving back and forth with the trolling motor looking for a bass to cast at with a minnow or that new sea urchin looking thing they've come out with. This is just my opinion but I would rather watch someone like Greg hackney with a flipping stick or frog in his hands all day than what I saw today.

Screw that I want to watch the rod bend as many times as possible on the biggest fish possible. If the biggest ones were going to be caught shallow most of thw field would fish shallow of the biggest ones are toaming in open eater most of thw field would be in open water. Boring tv when shallow dude gets 5 bites a day and a guy scoping could catch 25. But they are soing half scope half nonscope this yr. From what I see around here the same guys win the scope tournaments and the no scope tournaments a lot of the time

I was ate up with tournament fishing at one time. When I was fishing tournaments, I loved to watch and keep up with the pro circuits. After losing interest in fishing tournaments tho, I lost interest in keeping up with it. I think most non tournament people have very little interest in the pro tours and no interest in local tournaments except that they might aggravate them while they are fishing. Don’t really see it ever being main stream. Sho is fun to drop a big sack on the scales tho🤣

Once he got by and hit that smooth water, he bumped the trim and walked off. That’s a good running boat. Is he running the Eyra?

Those Bass Cats are nice boats and will run. When looking for a boat I had it narrowed down to either a bass cat or phoenix and ended up going with the phoenix.

Kid pulled off the win. His twin brother won the college classic yesterday.

I think it’s a Puma. Not Eyra fast, but still faster than a Caymas.

That fellow that won is getting a lot hate and praise. 22 yo and winning that is an accomplishment. I fished a few local tourneys around 2000 and quickly realized I was out moneyed. Just like all other “sports”, these guys are trained at an early age. Electronics are awesome. I have di/si and 2d on one boat and none on the other. The one without doesn’t get as much use either. I won’t be buying 15k worth of sonar anytime soon, the marketing isn’t working on me to the point I’ll buy all the fancy stuff. I do have one boat nation and a wireless controlled trolling motor. That is a great advantage in itself.

It be's that way sometimes.

Live scope. Meh. Thats why I’ll always think of folks like Hank Parker, rick clunn, Paul Elias and all that crowd as the best pure bass fishermen. They caught loads of bass without all the fancy stuff. I’m all for new technology but that seems a little over the top IMO.

It has become a rich man's sport. A lot of guys get themselves in financial trouble trying to compete in the major trails. You gotta have deep pockets even if you are winning.

I could see that happening but there must be a helluva lot of rich men out there. Every Friday I ride through wetumpka and the hotel parking lots are full of $100k boat/trailers all pulled by $100k trucks fishing tournaments at lake Martin or Jordan.
