Looks like with the extra tax money were paying on our already too expensive gas they charge us again to maintain our roads, we would have good roads to drive on. But we dont. Its almost like theyre stealing our money. Im sure theyll tax us again for the same thing soon and theyll promise we will have good roads to drive on, like they did last tie and tme before that. And we will keep paying it, sit in traffic and beat our front ends all to pieces in potholes while trying our best to get to work so we can make the miney they steal from us. And the wheels on the bus go round and round. Greatest country on earth.

On the other hand, they have plenty of pavement to make speed bumps though grin

"Let's go finish this fight!". Love my Waze with the Master Chief narration. I'll admit to having a lead foot, and Waze is the best app for alerting me to the cops are hiding.

I’ve had a standing job offer in Nashville for several years now, that would add about $40-$50k a year to my salary. It’s been tempting but just isn’t worth it to me. Not with all the traffic around there. Remember when the only interstates through there were 65 and 24?

That $50 K extra income would evaporate in higher cost of living.

If you think homes and land is expensive in Alabama, you aint seen nothing.

I'm constantly contacted by head hunters about jobs in Atlanta, Charlotte, Nashville etc.

Hell naw.

We are at the Shelby /Chilton line and the commute for 3 or 4 more years is I65 from Calera to Riverchase. The expectation is the construction there will be complete within 2 weeks of the date for retirement.
