I’m on the road a lot and listen to books. Im really enjoying the Joe Picket series. I have listened to a lot of the Reacher books but they are getting a bit stale. Finished all the Tom Clancy and John Grisham novels.
I would like to download some podcasts but haven’t found any that I thought were good. A whole lot of people that seem to like hearing themselves talk. Anyways, if anyone has any good suggestions, I’d like to hear them.
I would especially like one that deals with the Bible. A lot of them out there but none that have held my interest.
Some of the history ones have been about the best ones to me as I like learning things if they are made interesting.
I’ve come across some true crime ones that I liked and a few that really sucked. I listened and thought the true crime stories I lived were better.
I generally want to avoid political podcasts. That would only serve to raise my blood pressure.
Like I said, the top of my list would be a good Bible story podcast if anyone has any suggestions. I mention on here that I like to keep my Christianity simple. I would like the same for a podcast. Nothing too deep in other words. Something along the lines of The Bible for idiots. Not too simple though as I know and believe the basics.

Honorable mention: The Mike Bowditch audiobook series by Paul Doiron. There's about 15 books total about a Maine game warden who constantly finds himself involved in various crimes ranging from poaching and murders to environmental offenses and cold cases. The narrator of the audiobook's is a 10/10 and I genuinely do not like audiobooks 99% of the time.

S-Town for the win! I've listened to it twice. It is a finite story told over numerous podcasts. Each one leaving you eager for the next. It will really hit home because it happened right here in good ol' bama. And the characters are real and real characters!

Wifey and I listened to "A Time to Kill" over a few road trips. That was excellent
A good one. Read it and seen the movie several times. Try the two sequels to it. Same characters in the same place just different circumstances. I know one is called Sycamore Row. Can’t think of the other off the top of my head.
The Reckoning is probably my favorite Grisham novel. Great audiobook for a long trip. It is about 20 hours worth.

Bear Grease is a good one. They cover a lot of historical figures that had an influence on the outdoors, early America, and hunting. Southern Outdoorsman for hunting. They’re young and learning, they remind of how exited I used to get about hunting when I was in my 20’s. Fistful of dirt is great, who doesn’t like Cuz Strickland? Gamekeeper is good, I often shake my head at some of Toxey’s sayings. Deer University and Wild Turkey Science are very informative.
Along the lines of Joe Pickett......you should look into other books that CJ Box has written. I just finished a book of short stories he wrote that was excellent. He has a lot of other stuff that isn't Joe Pickett that is just as good.
If Caitlyn Jenner can keep his wiener and be considered a woman, I can keep my guns and be considered disarmed!

I used to listen to a ton of true crime podcasts but I started having dreams about it and had to clear my mind of constant murder, rape, etc. It can be a little too much at times.
Now I follow about 10 financial podcasts and 10 or so habitat/wildlife podcasts. That keeps me busy. If interested, I can make some suggestions in those areas.
