Just a suggestion - if you are concerned about this spend a little time and see how the Selective Service System is structured. Its really quite interesting. Once upon a time I was a designated augmentee to a draft board. My job was to ensure the locally appointed board was provided with necessary support to function as intended. This was all a training exercise but still enlightening. The local draft board doesn't decide if you are drafted - when you get the notice you are already there. From that point on you either get an exemption through the local board or somehow fail the physical. Otherwise you are about to start a new line of employment.
Will be interesting to se if women have to register. Equal rights mean exactly that.
