Congress quietly passed a bill for Automatic Involuntary Draft Registration, they did it this past week.

Congress included provisions in the fiscal 2026 NDAA, passed in early March 2026, mandating automatic Selective Service registration for men aged 18-26 starting December 18, 2026, to streamline potential conscription amid reported manpower needs.

I thought signing up for selective service never went away.

Get the F out of the BATFE. The F is guaranteed by the US Constitution. Those other letters are not.

I always thought it was a law that as a citizen at the age of 18, you had to register for the draft.

I looked it up a few days ago when the topic came up. I figured someone would get around posting it.

I'mma say it a little louder for those in the back row. Fuck the US Government and the warmongering politicians. Includes Trump. Fuck em. If we need to turn out for a war on our soil, fine.

But the rest of the world can kiss my lilly white ass. And I hope the majority of Americans feel the same. I've had enough.

My son will be 18 in exactly a year from today. I dont know if I'd be able to let him go over there if he was drafted. Not for a war like this.I sure wouldn't want him to

My son’s a couple months older. What choice would you have?

I did my time back in 1971. When I got discharged they gave me an automatic 4A draft classification. That means wimmin' and chillin' go before me.

We dont what the options would be if it did happen, but there would be options. There were a lot for Vietnam that I'm sure some of these guys could tell you about.

You don’t have a choice in the matter. Besides the draft never will happen because they actually turn some people away that try to serve.

I know that a male of that age who did not register for the draft is not eligible for any federal student financial aid. I don't know if that also applies to the slew of welfare programs or not.

Both of our boys did register, but they come from a long line of folks who did serve.

I'm sure that many of the Democrat leaders made sure that the system does not auto-cross check the registration status when applying for handouts.
Plus, I really dont think a lot of young people are even aware that they are supposed to register. I just cant imagine a public school in California reminding students to do it, much less some of their weird private schools.

My son’s school did it for him. I went online to do it because I thought I had to and it was already done.

How long do you believe true isolationism would work out for America? Given the technology of today/future?
