Just came through Hanceville. The station that is usually .20 higher than the other two is .30 lower than the other two right now. Reckon its going back down that quick or they just got tired of changing their sign every cpuple hours? Also noticed the store that usually has the cheapezt diesel has it at 4.99. It was 2.99 not long ago.

Trump is lifting some sanctions against some countries to offset the problems caused by the middle east oil situation. Venezuelan oil is now being sold to China through a US broker. Other countries are now free to buy Russian oil, those sanctions are being lifted while this Iran thing plays out.

I got it Saturday for $2.99. Most I saw today were $3.19-$3.29. I had a post on FB from 2022 about feeling I got a deal at $4.09.

The Exxon here was $3.15, up from $3.07 yesterday.
It grinds my gears that they change it based on futures instead of what they are actually paying for the most recent delivery.

I don't just camp out in the parking lot to watch how many deliveries they get, but it doesn't seem like it would be daily, but the price has changed that often and even twice in one day in the past week. If I am a retail business owner and I order a case of something at wholesale, then I mark it up whatever percent for a profit margin, I don't raise the price just because the next shipment will be more until I actually get the next shipment. It appears that fuel is not done that way. Maybe I am misunderstanding something about why it is done different.

I’m as far from a democrat as one could be. I don’t have a problem with any business making profits. What I do have a problem with is price gouging- which seems to be the case in my opinion.

It’s hard to do that when the market is flat. Money is made on the buying side because you always have competition of some kind that dictates the selling price 2 They need to make money on what they have in stock so when it does start coming down they can cover a potential loss on the higher replacement cost product . Say your competitor runs out of the higher product a week before and they start dropping their price you have to take a loss on what you have in inventory until you can buy back in to stay competitive.
