If we run it out to the extremes, wouldn’t calling actually be a form of baiting? 😂

LOL, if you're only gonna report violations based on your feelings, why report at all? Funny some folks on here will agree about the cams yet use them for deer.

A 5 year old can kill turkey that way - no need to call - 0 challenge. Like shooting fish n a barrel

A 5yo that can't pull a bow back at minimum req'd poundage can kill a deer in archery season with a crossbow too lol...

You would be shocked. It got several times worse after legalization of bait for deer. It’s EVERYWHERE. A huge problem.

This thread needs locked immediately.......... smirk

Turkey hunters trespassing and killing over the limit is worse than the baiting imo, but everybody thinks it’s funny.
If you’ll cross a property line to kill a turkey, you’ll do anything underhanded (morally).
If the limit is 4, why would it matter how they’re killed? Semantics. Aren’t the limits designed to be reached?
Only variable is who gets to kill them.
I’d rather the 5 yr old kill the turkey…

I am saddened by some of the big names, like waddell, who openly joke about jumping fences to kill a turkey on someone elses land

I don't think it is correct that the limits are designed to be reached. There aren't enough turkeys in the state for that. I agree with you that all the law breaking is bad.

I’ve been saying that for years, but the you can’t kill enough gobblers in the Spring crowd discarded it.

Here’s the thing: Wait until it’s you, that’s spent a lot of $, time, and effort on some land and are hunting it the right way, and have busted your ass to get in the zone on the opener, only to have the birds answering YOU, RUN by you across the property line to a corn pile on the neighbor’s land and …..boom, boom, boom. Three less nice toms to ever call again. I guarantee you’ll rat out every bait pile you know of after that. Corn don’t require a call, roosting a bird, getting in the right spot, etc. All the birds will go there. It’s not like deer at all. They’re all gonna try to get to the feed on fly down, before the rest do. JME.

The elephant in the room that nobody wants to recognize. Most leased land (club land) is dominated by deer hunters. They want (and in most cases do) feed deer year round. Most turkey hunters try to find clubs, or opportunities wherever they can to hunt turkeys. Next thing you know you are in a club / lease that just won’t stop feeding deer year round - period. Even when discussed prior to paying club dues the issue seems to persist. So - the turkey hunter tries to takes his lumps to the tune of the full lease membership and is left to find another place to hunt OR he makes his best effort to hunt the place and avoid feed as much as possible. He can be written a citation if there is a single grain of corn on the entire property no matter how large the property or distant from feed the hunter is hunting. How many times do you think this scenario plays itself out over the entire state? How many “old school” turkey hunters are faced with abandoning their club dues or hunting outside the parameters of the law?
I have personally had to abandon my lease money entirely (I do not deer hunt) in order to stay within the parameters of the law more than once. I’m seriously considering just giving up my favorite passion due to this issue.

I guess there some lines that shouldn’t be crossed.

The local hardware stores by my property have pallets of feed wheat and corn they have been selling to the locals to keep the turkeys fed. The locals around my place will hae most of the gobblers thinned out before the season comes in. If there’s a bird on your property and they can hear it and know your not there he will disappear
