Well crap, I got blood tested and I have the Alpha-Gal reaction/syndrome. It's been pretty mild, but noticeable for me. A lot of joint pain, fatigue, and a little wheezing sometimes. My blood works showed my IgE at 12.5 ku/L. No mammal meats for me for the next 4-6 weeks. Hopefully, I can start to add them back over time. Funny thing is I've only ever pulled 1 tick off me, guess that was the silver bullet.

I have honestly never heard of that.

Hope you get better.

Watch out for any and everything mammal based. I had a cousin that had his wisdom teeth cut out. They took every precaution with the pharmacy and surgery teams to make sure none of the meds contained anything that would trigger as reaction. Surgery went fine, put him in a room for overnight as a precaution. Hooked him up to a monitor and he went in to anaphylactic shock due to the leads having mammal based products in the adhesive.

Its real and its bad. In severe cases it can lead to death.

My best friend has it. Every time he ate meat he passed out the next morning. Wife found him blacked out 4 or 5 times. Took them a while to get him diagnosed.

Now, he can only eat critters that has feathers or fins. No others.

My boss has been unable to eat mammalian meat for over three years now.
