If they don’t help the deer and turkey, why would you not kill them? However, they do eat slugs, snails, beetles, cockroaches, mice, rats, and even venomous snakes like rattlesnakes and copperheads, fallen fruit and rotting vegetation, and reduce the risk of disease from decaying animal matter. Turkeys eat most of that too and I'd much rather kill a possum to save some turkey eggs.
