If the stop work order is not followed. Fines. Lots and lots of fines. If work is not stopped and fines are not paid, liens are placed on the property. If there’s a mortgage, liens are sent to the bank. Notice to cure is sent from bank. If work is not stopped and fines paid and liens removed, bank will issue a notice of default and demand to cure with a defined time. After that foreclosure is initiated and the bank’s distressed assets section finds a new buyer for your property. Bingo
