The biggest deal would be that the prices would bottom out, as this would be a work-around for the 1986 registry closure.
Modern ones are not that expensive. When I was citizen armorer for a local drug enforcement unit, they had an H-K UMP40. Cost the department about $1250 in 2010.
Great gun, but the Glock 18 was surprisingly controllable and tons of fun to shoot.
