I was thinking about getting a bigger Kubota too. I have a 3800 HST and like it ,just wish it was bigger. When I was looking Snead beat everybody else on package deals

When it comes to tractors I always give the same advice.

Tractor HP is like weiners and boobies. You always want bigger than what you got. Get the absolute biggest tractor you can afford for what you think you need. If you think a L3200 will work.....then go with at least a 40 horse. You will not regret it.

Whatever you get, make sure you don't have got clutch to change gears. Whether it's shuttle shift, hydrostatic etc. Clutching for every shift gets old and wears stuff out quicker. And it's just annoying.

I decided on a MX6000 when I was shopping. I emailed nearly every dealer in the state asking for a quote. I sent the same email to all. Beshears in Oxford beat everybody and really wasn’t that close. I drove up there and brought it back. So far it hasn’t given me a minute of trouble and I’ve used it quite a bit

Nothing like having to regen at 2k + rpm when your trying to do a job that doesnt require minutes of high rpm.. this is what keeps me away from kubota

I opt for weight, get the heaviest , stronger built tractor in the HP range you need . All that HP is useless if you can't get it to the ground. Kubota makes an L compact with 48 HP, that's true utility tractor HP on a oversized lawn tractor frame.

MX6000hst with fel and r4 tires works well for most anything imo. Farley Tractor in Jasper probably has the best price near me. Dixie Kubota in Good Hope has best inventory, parts and repair shop.
My JD HST pedals and fel joy-stick controls are much more user friendly though.

I’m not crazy about it but it doesn’t really affect anything. It prob uses a little more fuel when it goes into regen but it’ll only last 10 min or so and I don’t have to stop working. I just keep doing what I’m doing. I haven’t had any issues out of it.

Your a lucky fella.. It can get real expensive when that emissions crap starts throwing codes

I had a john deere 5045e before i bought the Kubota it had regen too

I want a heavy built 60hp with HST if available. Hoping they get to making some non Emissions units asap

I would recommend you try out a hydrostatic that size, actually working with it before you buy it. Shuttle yes, peddle no would be my recommendation. I use a hydrostatic peddle shift cleanung up treejobs. Having my hands available to steer and run the grapple is great for that application. Loss of power is bad. I wouldny want a hydrostatic peddle for actual farming. I have a 58hp kubota hydrostatic shuttle as well. For farming applications its great and strong. Im not sure what the difference is but there is a big difference in power

Agree with Jwalker. Great for smaller applications but 50+ hp is better suited for other transmissions.

To be honest I feel the same way. What I’d really like is a track loader but I’m trying to be somewhat practical on the Bang for Buck factor. I have a 1968 JD that is 38Hp. It pulls my 6 implements well but I’ve worked that thing to death. So just want the best all around food plot planter/ around the house living on acreage tractor. Mowing about 12-15 acres. Moving brush and logs. No AG applications other than hobby garden and flowers. Problem is I always want one level bigger/better just in case and thy seem to be built better than the “hobby homesteader/farmer)units they make I want the real deal well made one. As well as can be these days

Anyone have any experience with the bad boy tractors? I heard some good stuff from them.

Definitely get a M series kubota. They are made for heavy use. I would look for a good used one with under 300hrs. Pre def. I have a l3400 with r4 tires and a m7040 with ag tires. For bush hogging and stuff i prefer the r4. They dont tear the ground up as much and mine are wider than the ag version so they dont sink in wet ground as much. For disked fields ag tires by far
