Good looking yote johnv.
I ordered me a few baits and a lure from Fleming. Are yall putting your lure on a stick kinda down in the hole a few inches or keeping it right up on top of the ground?
Johnv, what bait or lure did you use to catch that gal?

Awesome Kyles

Check mine shortly - interested in seeing what my new style dog sets may do. Want to put out 2-3 more dp and dog sets out. Only trapping on 80 acres - the side of my lease that never sees a turkey

Empty handed

Lost a dp - never done that. Was slightly going down hill in hardwoods - ground was little soft - saw where he struggled - yanked it up

I’m about to reopen deer season on our place if those mfers don’t stop stepping in my coyote sets. Had to reset one trap three times this week and every time has been deer.

Are you using coyote urine?

I am. Think that’s pulling them in?

I had the same problem when I first started trapping and someone told me to stop using the urine. I haven't had a deer step on a trap since I stopped using it.

Questions,,,for those that use polyfil under the pan, how much are you putting under there and are you also using any pan covers with it ,or just the poly?
And those that are doing a T-bone or bone set, how big of a bone are you using. Would it be just like a t-bone that we cut out steak off of or just what? Could I go by a grocery store and see if they would give me a could of bones that they have trimmed meat from maybe?

Interesting. I trapped a lot in high school/college and never seemed to have this problem. We do have a much stronger deer population now though. Plus having cams over the sets has really shown me what is messing with them, back in the day I would have just assumed the yotes were digging them up.

I liked using a piece of wax parchment paper over the top of the pan......You gotta cut it to fit, wad up in a little ball, and then unfold it out so that its not nice and neat

I use the heavy stock paper flyers I get in the mail and wad it up to soften it up. This is all I have used for the last 5-6 years.

I like using poly fil. Tried coffee filters and latex pan covers. Felt like I couldn't pack the trap in as mush as I like and definitely had more dig ups.
