You don’t have to do the baling or selling to generate $3-400 per acre per year. There’s companies in Alabama, Florida and Georgia paying that amount and they do all the work. The landowner is basically hands off. I’m not recommending that anyone do this, I’m just relaying the facts. I don’t care for the pine monoculture. I like the diversity of mixed species habitats.
