Its a mud volcano, not a magma volcano, so its not going to be a global changing event or anything. Basically a giant natural gas deposit just super farted.

This is wild what is happening in the city near the volcano. The ground is cracking open and methane is bubbling up out of the ground. Residents are being warned that any one of the cracks could ignite and explode. They are evacuating a big radius around the center of the volcano. https://x.com/matttttt187/status/2026841462629941686

Some of those Colombian volcanoes are deadly Skinny. Look up what happened to the town of Armero Colombia that was completely abandoned. Bunch of folks died. People stuck in mud. One woman was trapped and used a pocket knife to cut part of her leg off to free herself. Oh and they have a golden snail whose slime will kill you in addition to snakes, scorpions and grave robbers.

We were there last year and like so many of those countries, it's a shithole. Sorry Columbia, but you are. There are some nice areas, but those areas are smack dab in the middle of a whole bunch of shithole.
