Hate to hear of this but the other half and I had a conversation on the way to Bama this evening. We show more compassion to our pets than our loved ones. Going to bury my granddad tomorrow which is why we were headed back to AL. He’d had dementia and was out of it for the last few months. I saw him over Christmas and he recognized me for a minute, then he checked out. I could tell right there it was time. His body held on until last Friday. He wouldn’t have wanted to linger on that long, but there’s nothing else that could be done legally. There shouldn’t be anything wrong with letting our loved ones go in a dignified fashion. I know I’d want that if I were in those same shoes.
