What might a Browning AB3 wood stock 7/08 with a custom trigger and red field 4x12x40 scope be worth🤔

This was at the pawn shop in Monroeville last month. This is brand new price.

^^^^^I always like to see a factory plastic trigger (AB3) on any gun I am going to think about buying. LOL. Do yourself a favor and dont buy an AB3. It is not an Abolt.

I definitely wouldn’t pay that for one. Probably wouldn’t pay anything for it. You can get a lot better rifle for 700.00

I agree!! About the only positive thing I saw with this rifle was the stock was pretty. Everything else was not so good. I understand Browning wanting a piece of the economy line of rifles but this was too much. It kinda reminded me of the Rem 710. That was the reason I took the picture. I couldn’t believe that was the price they were going for. This pawn shop actually has reasonable prices on firearms. Several of my guys have purchased rifles and shotguns from them.

AB3 with a wood stock is just lipstick on a pig. Money is better spent on a Savage than a AB3, and I’m not a Savage fan.

I sighted in one for a friend. It shot decent, but felt like junk.

Get a ruger American instead.

I don't own the Browning...a friend offered to sell it to me and although I don't need another I was just curious about that model...I haven't touched the gun so I was curious about it before I even considered it.. thanks for the input

It’s kinda funny how Remington, Winchester, Savage, Ruger, Marlin, etc. have all derived (likely) a primary source of profit$ from the budget arena and have been lauded for many of their firearms in that price realm….along with the corners cut to get there. Here comes Browning, taking the much-praised Winchester XBR and morphing an A-Bolt III off of it to get a foot in the door of the budget bolt gun world, and everyone seems to hate on them for it. While I agree that the A-Bolt III is NOT like the I/II, I just think Browning often draws sooo much more angst from many, than their favorite ‘other brand’….which seems to get a lot of grace when it comes to faults. I don’t know if Browning is just expected to be higher end vs other mainstream brands, or if there’s just animas towards the brand from others?

Anyway, I kinda draw the line at $600 for ‘budget’, but maybe I’m behind the times?…..and plastic magazines, trigger guards, and bolt shrouds are worth more $ these days? I’d hunt down a beat to crap A-Bolt II or Win 70 over most of them.

I wish Kimber would find decent stocks so they could pump up the Montana line again, and maybe morph a push-feed off it, too…..just so we’d have more US-made options for old-school bolt guns.

Not a fan of Remington's budget bolt guns either.

I think making the rifle was their biggest mistake, they should not have watered down their brand IMO. Unfortunately, most companies are run by bean counters now and they dont care about reputation as long as they make money...

Naming it the AB3 was actually marketing genius IMO. They're not actually calling it an Abolt, but the name is similar enough it leads people to (falsely) assume that its an Abolt and I'm sure has largely accounted for it's success.

Love my Kimber Mountain Ascent. For a super light gun, it is very accurate and surprisingly easy to shoot.

AMEN. It looks like the gun manufacturers in the US are in a race to the bottom and if you aint packin' a grand + tax when you go gun shopping, they don't know you.
