Trying to do some research before I purchase a fence for the dog. Looking at some options with a collar and a GPS fencing system. Any recommendations? Unless you have some little undetermined breed of dog, DON'T TRUST ANY OF THE ELECTRONIC CRAP. A couple of weeks back we lost one of the best dogs I've ever had, Skeeter. He was 50/50 border collie/aussie. One heck of a fine pup. Had the Petsafe "determined dog" collar on him and the battery had been replaced that very morning. My wife and I were both away and Skeet decided to run down a delivery truck, ran thru the joke of a "fence" and it cost him his life. We've both grieved over this one ever since. Don't trust any strong willed dog you value to gimmicks, get a real fence. ![[Linked Image from photos.smugmug.com]](https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-8Xdwjgq/0/NN5NqjTJ5kVnfVbrjFhrr2FNnRh98d5RnFFC2sHx9/X4/i-8Xdwjgq-X4.jpg) Dang Ridge, sorry to hear this. Losing any pup is rough. I lost mine 2 years ago. Finally was ready to get another. I had a hard time feeling like I was replacing a great friend. Thanks man. Yeah, we took it hard. Skeet had a personality that would be hard to find in another dog. This year we started with three collies and an smaller inside pup. The two female collies got bit by a rattler in the summer and we lost the younger one. Now Skeeter is gone. The old momma collie, Lynzie, is pretty much alone now when she's out. At 11 years old, she has no interest in getting out of the yard. We've been spending as much time with her as possible and let her in frequently. Pretty Ms Lynzie a few years back. ![[Linked Image from photos.smugmug.com]](https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-gBnGj4V/0/Mmpm8JFqCRjNxgXSwmmFFs68bKqx5SvZZMwnN3MCc/X5/i-gBnGj4V-X5.jpg)
