Nothing surprises me. Unfortunately deer hunting attracts some of the nastiest, stupid, inbred, lying, cheating, and insecure people on the face of the earth!

So the other member got caught at the landowners house?

I got in a fight with the club president at the main gate back in college when I was in one. He started blaming me for everything because I was the college kid that could hunt mid week despite it being legal and within the club rules. President the year before was great just got his own lease where he left, and this one came in and got jealous. He blamed me for leaving the camp water on and other things that my dad didn’t even know where or how to turn those things on neither did I. Dad backed me in emails as well as calls to him etc The next weekend as I was going to a different spot, we met at the main gate where he got into my face cussing and yelling at me. Actually held my cool as it wasn’t worth it. We got out after deer season. We still have good friends from that club today though other than him.

I heard about a Crazy member that was asked to leave a club and later one night he ran over all of the shooting houses in his truck.

When I was a kid my dad belonged to a club in Winston County and would let me tag along with him every now and again. We showed up one Friday night to the camphouse to do some deer hunting that weekend and dad struck up a conversation with some other dude about turkey hunting. They were about an hour into it when we heard somebody pull up. A few minutes later some clown walked through the door and he was very obviously wasted. He come in loudly and threw his junk on the couch and sat down at the table off to his own. I mean this dude was so drunk he couldn't even hold his head up right and looked like a bobblehead. So, after the commotion my dad and this other dude continue their conversation about turkey hunting and this guys ears perk up. He comes over and pulls up a chair and the first thing out of his mouth (slurred of course) was "You MF'ers don't know a GD thing about turkey hunting. I can kill one anytime I want". My dad is one of those no nonsense guys so he tells the guy that he needs to go to bed and sleep it off before he gets his ass whipped. Ol dude get's up and says "I'll show you MF'ers something" and stumbles out of the cabin and gets in his old beater truck and peels out. About an hour later we hear him pull back up and his truck door slam, and then we hear him stomping up the steps. Next thing we know he kicks the cabin door open and stumbles in and throws a dead hen turkey on the floor and yells "What do y'all MF'ers think of that"? Apparently he went out and shot it out of a tree with a spotlight because it was black dark. Then he just falls like a tree and lands in the floor of the cabin right on his face and was out. I asked my dad if he was going to help him up and he said "Nope..... I'm going to toss this dead turkey in the woods and let that idiot lay". He was still there the next morning when we went out to hunt, but gone by the time we came back.

Atta boy , BTW, a claw hammer makes realistic rubs.

Dang BC 😀
He was king of stupid

Gobble4me i was in a club like that. I started turkey hunting it and my buddy joined in. I strictly told him to keep his pie hole shut. The Prez and family were jealous controlling people by nature and would break the rules to suit them and change to suit them. First year i killed 4 turkeys in like 7-8 days. Great turkey spot - had turkeys. I was in my 20s and could hunt a lot. My buddy bragged to them about me killing turkeys after season! Next season they decide to learn/try. They hardly ever killed but were hooked. I whacked em big time again and taught my buddy and he killing. But from then on - it was their turkeys and they piss when i hunt. Could hear prez drive up in afternoon if i afternoon hunted - checking. I stayed in sev more years

Other than selfish pricks that ran it - great club. They broke and changed countless rules. That about been my hunting club experiences in 40 years of club hunting - been in a bunch. Bunch of 5 year old greedy selfish pricks in hunting clubs

I was nice - but i wanted to say to prez - hey fool - i the only reason you ever discovered turkeys u lov so much to hunt now and ya dumb but pissed at me cause i know how to kill em and i out here killing em. That back in the 90s - tremendous turkey spot. My buddy later said - dang - everything u said came true!! I said and why do you think i told ya to keep your mouth shut - i said cause i was aware that it would come true

But u got to hav em to be able to kill em boys

And i never broke a rule. Hunted too much for their liking. Never killed over a limit. And prob put less pressure cause i always hunted perfect winds and certain stands were bullet proof to winds due to landscape where they never smell u regardless. I knew place and correct wind like back of my hand and few of stands could sneak out undetected cause they backed off hurting area

Been in several deer clubs without any real problems or stupidity. I could write a book on the dumb stuff I have seen at duck camps. Best was a neighbor in LA who took a sailboat and made a paddle wheel out of it. Powered by a 3 wheeler that sat on the back deck and covered in Christmas tree lights. He was a lot of fun and no one ever stole anything while I was there.

I've had that problem in clubs...... especially if you kill a couple of good ones. I call it sign out board stalking. The good thing about that is you can steer those folks wherever you like by killing a buck and hauling it to an easily recognized green field to take pictures. When asked, "Where'd you get that one?" tell them the field and say things like "I couldn't even get a shot at the bigger one that was with him". You won't have to worry about that guy for a while after that. Or just sign out some over pressured gar hole and when you are asked if you seen anything tell them you had a giant chase a doe through the field but he didn't give time for a shot. This method works even better if there's a little inner circle of guys or a clique.... then all of them will be fighting over it.

I heard about that guy too. I heard that he was driven to that behavior by the club president stealing his cameras and ground blinds and various other provocations.i also heard that guy that ran over the shooting houses is basically a salt of the earth guy 99% of the time until you push him too far 😁

Never been in a club but have tracked deer for alot of them. One club has abunch of German guys in it. Apparently they really hate spikes. 3 guys flat out kill every spike they see. Glad I don't hunt anywhere close to them.

That’s usually the case that some never seem to get. Keep poking the bear, you get the teeth…messing with the bull, you get the horns. Don’t poke the bear and you don’t get bit!

4 of us leased the turkey rights on 2500 acres for about 5 years from a deer club. Loaded with turkeys. We would
kill 10 gobblers a year off it then hunt elsewhere. No problems and never anyone else there
during turkey season.

The last year one afternoon I was easing down the main road on an electric golf cart and looked back and a
pickup truck was almost touching the golf cart.

It was the deer club President who I did not know. He asked me where I was going and I said
to the big drain on the North side. He said no that’s where I’m going.

I said ok I’ll go to another spot. He said no that’s where my boy is going. I named a 3rd spot
and he said my BIL is going there.

I was about 30 at the and wouldn’t run from a fight. I asked him where in the Hell do you suggest
I go and stepped real close to him.

He backed off and mumbled another spot that was an 80 acre pine thicket with a tiny green field
In it.

Went there and called up 5 gobbling jakes and it took everything I had to not shoot all
5 of them.

I never went back. It was good while it lasted.

That’s my only experience with a hunting club.

I knew a dude who was kicked out of a club because he killed 2 nice bucks his first season in it. The President got pissed and told him he wasn’t going to be considered for membership next season. Only problem was the idiot President told him about two weeks before the season was over. That dude piled up every deer he saw for the next two weeks that he could legally shoot. Ended up with at least 10 deer in that time frame. Moral of that story- if you’re gonna tell a member he wont be asked back next season, damn sure don’t tell him until the season is over!!!
